We could all use some fashion inspirations as we attend many other smaller events leading up to the main bridal events in the coming weeks and months. To get started, let’s look at some beautiful fashion photo shoots done by the talented and aspiring fashion photographer Rabia Mirza.

Below Rabia shares with us some of her favorite photographs and tells us a little about her interest in photography and her journey thus far.

I started as soon as I got my first point and shoot camera — 4 years ago. I used to photograph things in nature, my nieces, and random everyday scenes. I have always been into art and creativity so that is probably the best way to explain how I started with photography.

Capturing those little things in a unique way, seeing other photographers work daily, and experimenting with my camera became my daily inspiration and motivation to learn more and take better shots. The more I did, the more I liked it!

Sometimes I just have ideas in my head that I like to experiment with, but mostly it is instant inspiration when I see a lot of beautiful natural light hitting something or someone a certain way…I rush off to grab my camera and start shooting right away.

I started by just experimentation and everything I have learned so far has been self-taught through practice and I haven’t gotten any professional training in photography yet. It’s visual art and lucky for me, that’s the best way I learn things–by just looking at photographs and practicing. There are technical aspects of it when you get into various equipment, I have just learned to read my users manual and as always websites/forums are an awesome source of information.

In terms of which kinds of photography I am interested in, I can photograph anything and right now I am mostly working on senior portraits, baby/child photography, engagement sessions, and other lifestyle shoots. I am interested in doing fashion/beauty and bridal couture shoots. There are a lot of things I want to try! But when all of that becomes overwhelming I like to go back to my roots and shoot things in nature and my environment–anything to gain inspiration.

Photography is not my primary profession. I do paid photography often but I’m a full time Engineer and I like to consider photography my hobby and a release from the daily grind.
